Two teams from Palmyra High School will compete in a STEAM — science, technology, engineering, the arts and math — competition on Friday, May 5.
Two Palmyra High school team lead by the school’s teachers John Yoon and Tony Gore were chosen to compete in the STEAM TANK South regional ninth through twelfth grade competition. Created and sponsored by the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) and the U.S. Army, the May 5 competition will be held at at Blackwood Reserve Center in Blackwood.
The contest, modeled after the show “Shark Tank,” challenges students to create projects, which will be judged by a panel of business leaders, inventors and entrepreneurs. The Palmyra High School teams submitted projects titled “Redesign of Local Bridge” and “Electricity Generating Sneakers.”
