Washington Township High School was the winner of the 21st Annual Gloucester County Consumer Bowl held on Feb.Ā 13.

The five-member team challenged students from Gateway, Glassboro and West Deptford High Schools to win the title. The Consumer Bowl was played in a game show format that challenged the studentsā€™ knowledge and understanding of consumer information and rights in the marketplace.

ā€œThese students are our future business leaders and consumers, and they will certainly be a driving force of the economy,ā€ Freeholder Lyman Barnes, liaison to the Department of Consumer Protection said. ā€œTheir preparedness in the world is based upon the education they receive in the classroom and we want it to translate to real-life experiences. I am proud of their level of knowledge.ā€

Washington Township High School will advance to the regional finals in April and will attend a freeholder meeting at a later date to receive special recognition and a proclamation.
