If you’re looking for a new furry family member, this Saturday may be your lucky day!
From noon to 2 p.m. on Aug. 20, One Love Animal Rescue will host an adoption event at Pet Supplies Plus in Cherry Hill. Adoptable dogs will attend for meet-and-greets with potential new families.
“They can get some great exposure and the community can meet them in person and fall in love,” One Love chairman Sherri Smith said.
Dogs attending on Saturday include: Abe, an approximate 3-year-old energetic and social hound mix; Kiera, a sweet “pocket pittie” who loves everyone; and Polly, a loving medium-sized boxer and terrier mix. Others may attend, according to Smith, but schedules are still evolving. All of One Love’s adoptable animals can be viewed on its website at www.oneloveanimalrescue.org.
The mission of One Love Animal Rescue is to rescue homeless animals, nurture them through foster care and place them in permanent loving forever homes. Events like this Saturday’s help the group further this mission.
“Pets have a way of winning the hearts of people when they get to wiggle their butts and wag their tails in person,” Smith said.
Smith added that, beyond adoptions, events like Saturday’s are important to spread awareness about homeless pets.
“It also gives us a chance to make great connections and get more support for our network of volunteers, financial supporters and social media ‘sharers,’” Smith said. “It all matters, and we are pleased to have an opportunity to mingle with the public.”
Pet Supplies Plus is located at N. 1610 Kings Highway in Cherry Hill.
