2016 Birchwood Lakes Sprint Triathlon

The 2016 Birchwood Lakes Sprint Triathlon is taking place on Thursday, July 2 at the Birchwood Lakes Colony Club 47 S. Lakeside Drive. Beginning at 8 a.m., this event will consist of a ¼ mile swim, 13.2 mile cycle and 3.2 mile run. The run and bike are on nice flat shaded roads, and the swim is in deep fresh water that is well maintained.

During the event, roads will be open to traffic but will have police on the corners to stop traffic for the race. Aiming to create a family friendly environment with competition at the same time, Birchwood lakes to crease low key, fun and low-tech vibes at this year’s triathlon. Although the organizers will not be doing splits, they encourage people to wear a device that allows them to do so individually.

The first three female and male finishers will receive cash prizes, and the first and second age group finishers will be awarded Danzeisen & Quigley certificates. Additionally, all finishers will be given something to commemorate the race and take home.

Please park off-site at St. Mary of the Lakes RC 40 Jackson Road, approximately one mile from the transition. Follow the signs reading “BLCC/Du/Tri Parking,” and please do not park in the neighborhood.
