After a lackluster performance on Saturday including a 13–3 loss to the Central Jersey Lightning, Coach Rich Onorato’s 14U Mystics came roaring back on Sunday, treating their Moms to a 4 game sweep, earning them the Championship Trophy in the Philly Spirit PONY Nationals Qualifier Tournament. The team, behind solid defense and timely hitting capped off the day with an 8–1 win over the Newtown Rock. That victory followed a comeback 6–3 victory over the same Lightning team from the previous day. This was the team’s third national qualifier win and fourth tourney title of the year.
