The Moorestown Soccer Club is starting its 35th year. Record numbers of teams and players are already training and games start the weekend of Sept. 6.
Even before the World Cup this summer, soccer began exploding in popularity. The MSC has been riding that wave for decades. In this special anniversary year, the Club has a record 33 teams and almost 500 players competing in travel soccer this Fall. The club has players ranging from ages 7–15. Both girls and boys teams will play ten games in the Fall and more in the Spring season.
MSC plays in the South Jersey Soccer League, the South Jersey Girls League and MAPPS. Some players are new to soccer and some are elite players. Several MSC teams are playing in the top flights of their respective leagues. As part of its programming, the MSC provides coaching, technical training, conditioning, safety and parent education courses.
The club is also planning its Soctoberfest Gala for Oct. 17 at Laurel Creek. Funds support both scholarships and keeping dues low. Anyone interested in getting involved in soccer or the Gala can get information at www.Moorestownsoccer.com.
