The Burlington County Office of Emergency Management has released some updated information on the forecast of the storm and sheltering information for residents of our county. Hurricane Sandy continues to move toward our area with some of the outer bands already affecting our area. Tropical storm force winds will begin to affect our area tomorrow and increase throughout the day. Wind and rains will be prolonged during this event and threaten to cause significant inland flooding. Multi-jurisdictional shelters will open tomorrow. Residents in need of shelter should contact the Main Street Station at (856) 983–2210 — Do not go directly to the shelter. This sheltering process must be coordinated to insure a place is available as space is limited. Local sheltering options will be made available in the event the storm’s severity and impact on our township warrants their need.
