Honoring their commitment to the preservation of the home building industry in New Jersey, four area businesspeople were inducted into the Builders League of South Jersey Hall of Fame at an awards dinner held at the Merion Caterers in Cinnaminson.
Established in 2005, the Builders League Hall of Fame recognizes those members and former members of the association for their service and commitment to the League and the home building industry. The eighth group of inductees includes past president Barbara Chiusano of C and C Development Company in Marlton.
A resident of Medford, Chiusano is widely recognized for leading new initiatives in the region’s home building industry. She was part of the leadership team that formed the League’s Smart Growth Committee, which recognized that land use patterns and housing choices were changing globally and worked to educate both industry workers and the public on what smart growth will look like in the future. She is active in the housing industry’s public affairs outreach programs in Trenton and has been involved in most of the League’s consumer outreach programs.
Chiusano served as president of the Builders League in 1999 and 2007. In her commitment to the industry, she serves as a member of the League’s Board of Directors, Action Committee, Scholarship Foundation, Sales and Marketing Council, Green Building Committee, Public Affairs Advisory Committee and Smart Growth Committee. As well, she served on the Board of Directors at the National Association of Homebuilders.
The Builders League of South Jersey is a housing industry trade association of builders, developers, remodelers, suppliers, subcontractors, lenders, consulting professionals and others involved in providing residents with places to live and work in South Jersey. The Builders League is committed to promoting balanced solutions for solving New Jersey’s housing needs while planning for preservation, environmental protection and economic growth.
