A one-day oasis of relief

For most children of cancer patients, each day can be a struggle. Camp Oasis wants to help them forget about their troubles, at least for one day.

The South Jersey Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society is hosting their fourth annual Camp Oasis, a day long camping trip for children of people suffering from cancer in the tri-county area.

This year’s camp will be held June 12 and is open to children between the ages of 8 to 16 from Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties.

The camp aims to provide children with a stress-free day of fun and allow them to share the day with other children who face the same problems and fears.

A variety of activities are planned, including swimming, face-painting, crafts and scrapbooks, and a barbecue lunch of hot dogs and hamburgers.

There is no charge to attend Camp Oasis, but registration is limited to 40 participants. Please register early by contacting camp director Jackie Miller at (609) 654–8979.
