Suspect attempts to pass fraudulent check, arrested

By ROBERT LINNEHAN

Trying to pass a fraudulent check at a bank is not a smart idea. Sticking around long enough for police to arrest you in the same bank is just downright stupid.

On Feb. 25, Evesham police officers were dispatched at approximately 1:30 p.m. to the TD Bank located on Route 70 in Marlton for a report of a suspect on location attempting to pass a fraudulent check.

Police responded to the bank and arrested a 48-year-old male from Decator Street in Camden.

Investigation found that the suspect attempted to pass a counterfeit check at the bank to obtain $900 in cash.

He was charged with presenting a forged document, Criminal Attempted Theft by Deception and Theft by Deception. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail in default of $5,000 bail.
