April is Spring Clean-up time in Haddonfield

The borough is encouraging residents to clean out their homes and yards with relaxed trash limits and frequent yard debris pickups.

The borough’s “Spring Clean-up” continues this month and runs through April 28. During the Spring Clean-Up period, the Borough relaxes the six piece limit for household trash pickup and encourages residents to clean out basements, garages, yards and attics. The chipper and leaf machine will also run twice a month for any yard debris as a part of Spring Clean-Up, which started April 3.

Spring Clean-Up comes as Haddonfield is still tending to downed branches from the March 14 storm. On Saturday, April 8, both of Haddonfield’s chippers will be out working the Wednesday trash route. On Monday, April 10, the chipper complete any streets in the Wednesday route that still require cleanup from the March 14 storm.

Haddonfield’s Public Works Department has been able to alter the chipper schedule, and all streets will have had one visit since the storm. Once all streets have been completed, the chipper will begin the route again.

During the week of April 10, the leaf machine will also collect leaves raked in piles at the park strip. The borough asks that residents do not place leaf piles in the street or branches on top of leaf piles.
