Freeholder Young presents Animal Angel Award to GTPD

Camden County Freeholder Jonathan Young and the Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center presented the GTPD with the Animal Angel Award yesterday at Veteran's Memorial Park

To recognize the dedication the Gloucester Township Police Department has shown to the safety and well-being of lost and stray animals in Camden County, Freeholder Jonathan Young and the Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center presented the department with the Animal Angel Award.

The Animal Angel Award is awarded to persons, businesses or organizations that have a proven track record of striving to ensure Camden County’s animals are cared for, protected and loved.

“Through their active partnership with Homeward Bound, innovative use of social media, and genuine caring for animals of all kinds, the Gloucester Township Police Department has helped us reunite countless lost pets with their owners and help strays find new forever homes throughout the community,” said Young. “We’re excited to have an active partner in the community and someone that our residents can count on.”

Several adoptable dogs from Homeward Bound were on hand at the award presentation Thursday, Aug. 29 at Veteran’s Memorial Park for the officers to interact with.
