Rowan University seniors Daniel “Fitch” Henry and Miranda Coughlan, both of Sewell, Mantua Township, earned honors in their respective sports.
Henry earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Cross Country All-Region honors. The All-Region teams were announced on Nov. 12.
Henry had a 35th place finish at this year’s regional. It was his second straight All-Region honor. In 2017, he finished 18th with a season-best of 25:09. Henry won the 2018 NJAC individual title (26:10.27) and was the conference’s Runner of the Year.
Coughlan was chosen as the NJAC Swimmer of the Week.
In a 3–0 week, Coughlan swam on four winnings relays and she finished first in four individual events. At Kean University, she anchored the 200 freestyle relay (1:43.86) and won the 100 backstroke in 1:02.91. She led off the 400 freestyle relay (3:45.39) versus William Paterson and came in first in the 200 freestyle (1:59.11). Coughlan was a member of the 200 medley (1:52.21) and 200 freestyle relays (1:42.29) at Ramapo. She had first places in the 100 (55.23) and 200 (2:02.98) freestyles.
