Free Flu shots still available to residents

Gloucester County Freeholder announcement

With reports of the flu reaching epidemic levels this season, Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger and Freeholder Jim Jefferson, liaison to the Department of Health and Human Services, would like to remind residents that flu clinics are still being provided by the county and will be held through March.

“It is important for residents to get flu shots in order to protect themselves and to help prevent others around them from getting sick. With the flu as infectious as it is said to be this season, the health of our residents is a priority,” said Damminger.

“These vaccinations are free of charge and open to Gloucester County residents. No appointments are needed, so it is easy to get a shot and better your chances of staying healthy,” said Jefferson.

From September to December the county provided approximately 9,840 flu shots and is continuing to encourage residents who may not have been vaccinated yet to take advantage of these free clinics.

Clinics will be available at the Gloucester County Health Department at 204 E. Holly Avenue in Sewell on the following days:
Wednesday, Jan. 31, 8 to 10 a.m.
Thursday, Feb. 8, 2 to 4 p.m.
Monday, Feb. 12, 1 to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 21, 9 to 11 a.m.
Monday, Feb. 26, 2 to 4 p.m.
Thursday, March 8, 1 to 3 p.m.
Monday, March 12, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Monday, March 19, 1 to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, March 28, 9 to 11 a.m.
