Are you looking to get a feel-good run or walk in while helping a good cause? Be a hero and join us at the United Way of Gloucester County’s Live Heroic 5K and 1 Mile Walk on Saturday, June 9 at RiverWinds Community Center in West Deptford. Registration will start at 8 a.m., and the race and walk will begin at 9 a.m..
“Our Live Heroic 5K has grown into an engaging tradition to promote the influence that health and wellness has on the community,” said Michael Gower, Executive Director of the United Way of Gloucester County. “The superhero theme is also a lot of fun for runners and walkers of all ages. Everyone who strives to make a positive impact is a hero, and that’s something we truly try to highlight at this event.”
The 6th Annual Live Heroic 5K and 1 mile walk will unite athletes of all abilities to help fight villains such as food insecurity, poverty and illiteracy. Participants are encouraged to wear their best superhero attire or t-shirt. Cutouts of some popular superheroes will be around the course to urge you on.
The 5K course at RiverWinds Community Center will start and end at the amphitheater area, and it is a certified race. It is recommended that participants register in advance. Runners and walkers who sign up before May 18 will receive a t-shirt.
Participants are also encouraged to form a team to bring together family and friends to challenge themselves athletically and in the spirit of fun to raise additional funds to Build Better Lives in Gloucester County.

All race proceeds will go to the United Way of Gloucester County, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lives by funding impactful programs and initiatives.
