Registration open for this summer’s Alice Paul Professional Leadership Institute for teen girls

The APPLI program’s focus on college and careers is a fun and engaging workshop open to students between the ages of 14 through 18.

Registration is now open for Alice Paul Institute’s summer leadership program for high school students to develop their leadership skills and prepare for college.

The Alice Paul Professional Leadership Institute (APPLI) is open to teen girls in high-school, or those entering ninth grade this fall.

The APPLI program’s focus on college and careers is a fun and engaging workshop open to students between the ages of 14 through 18.

“We are excited to offer another great summer of leadership development workshops for teen girls,” said Lucy Beard, Executive Director of the Alice Paul Institute. “API believes in the power of mentorship, and the APPLI program is recognized regionally as a unique opportunity for high school girls to learn about college options and to meet professional women who can share their own journey from college to successful career.”

The APPLI program will be held from July 8 through July 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Paulsdale, the family home of equal rights activist Alice Paul, located at 128 Hooten Road in Mt. Laurel. This five-day program includes college campus tours and workplace visits to meet women professionals at area companies.

Girls participate in workshops on the college application process, interview skills, financing their education, choosing “the right and realistic” school that matches goals, resume development and business etiquette. The program also includes a networking session with women mentors.

The fee for APPLI is $300 per student. Tuition assistance scholarships are available.
