Mantua Township patrol summary, May 1 – 6

The following are on file at the Mantua Township Police Department.

May 1

  • Officers responded to a hit-and-run crash where a vehicle struck a pole on Center Street and then left the scene.
  • Officers responded to a crash on Colosseum Drive where a vehicle ran into a fence. That person was arrested for DUI.
  • Units responded to an attempted burglary to a vehicle on Main Street where the owner observed two males attempting to enter her vehicle. They left prior to police arrival towards Pitman.
  • Officers took a report where the victim stated her mail was stolen.
  • Ptl. Mroz conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants. He was processed and released.
  • Sgt. Herner conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants. He was processed and also released.

May 2

  • Ptl. Krieger arrested a subject on an outstanding warrant. A search of her person revealed drugs in her possession. She was charged, processed and released.
  • Patrols assisted a Pitman officer who arrested a subject who was being combative and resisting arrest.
  • Units assisted a motorist that had broken down on Main Street at Center Street in the travel lane.
  • Ptl. Shaw arrested a subject for an outstanding warrant from Superior Court. He was processed and turned over to the county jail.
  • Units took a harassment complaint where the victim reported her father is threatening her.
  • The police chief was involved in a crash in which his vehicle was struck from behind while he was stopped at a red light. There were no injuries.
  • Patrols responded to a hit-and-run crash in Wenonah. Officers were able to track down the fleeing vehicle and he was charged accordingly.
  • Officers responded to a male who had passed and CPR was in progress.

May 3

  • Ptl. Riepen conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested the driver for DUI.
  • Ptl. Oldrati conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested an occupant for outstanding warrants as well as possession of drugs.
  • Officers responded to a female who was threatening to harm her herself. She was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
  • Patrols responded to a crash on Tylers Mill Road in the area of Woodbury-Glassboro Road.
  • Units responded to a crash on Main Street in the area of Breakneck Road.
  • Officers took a report of theft of cash from inside their house by a subject who had a key.
  • Officers assisted a motorist who had locked their keys in their vehicle at the Target store.

May 4

  • Offices responded to a loud radio just after midnight. The operator agreed to turn down the music.
  • Officers responded to a female who was refusing to exit an Uber. When officers arrived, they attempted to transport her home, however, she attempted to hang herself in the back of the police car and was transported to the hospital.
  • Officers responded to a domestic dispute between a mother and her adult daughter over the custody of a child.
  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter along Route 45.
  • Ptl. Donovan and his K-9 partner, Boomer, assisted Woolwich Police with a missing autistic juvenile.
  • Patrols responded to a crash on Route 45 and Mt. Royal Road in which a vehicle struck and knocked down a light standard. The vehicle needed to be towed from the scene.
  • Ptl. Sheilds conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested two occupants for possession of drugs.

May 5

  • Officers responded to a crash on Center Street in the area of the nursery for a vehicle that had struck the fence. The vehicle needed to be towed and the operator suffered a minor hand injury.
  • Officers conducted a community service detail at Chestnut Branch Park.
  • Units responded to a crash in Wenonah in which two vehicles needed to be towed and there was a complaint of neck pain.
  • Officers supervised community service workers who cleaned up litter along Route 45.
  • Patrols responded to a second crash on Center Street in the area of the nursery.
  • Officers responded to a third crash on Center Street in the area of the nursery where the vehicle needed to be towed because it struck a utility pole.

May 6

  • Officers responded to the Wawa store for a customer who threw his coffee cup because an employee asked for ID before selling tobacco products. The customer left prior to our arrival.
  • Patrols responded to a homeowner who found drugs in their house and wanted to turn it over.
  • Units served a temporary restraining order against a subject.
  • Officers responded to a domestic dispute in which the caller’s ex was harassing her. A restraining order was granted.
