Burlington County has announced that the county is seeking volunteers to participate in the next ‘Clean Communities’ spring cleanup event on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to noon at Willingboro Lakes Park.
“Keeping Burlington County litter-free is an ongoing effort,” said Burlington County Freeholder Director Pullion, liaison to the county’s Recycling Department. “Earlier this year, the community came together and successfully removed nearly 1,800 pounds of litter from Pennington Park and along the banks of the Rancocas Creek. The county appreciates all the hard work our residents put in to improve our County Parks and our environment.”
Individuals, groups, and organizations are welcome to participate in this event. Bags, gloves, and grabbers will be provided along with light refreshments and a water jug to refill reusable water bottles. Volunteers younger than the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers under the age of 18 that would like to participate independently must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver. Waivers are available online or at the cleanup event.
For those who require community service hours, register by 4 p.m. on Friday, April 26. To register, email [email protected] or call (609) 499-1001, ext. 266.
Willingboro Lakes Park is located at 4150 N. Route 130 in Willingboro.
