Washington Township was one of only two districts selected to participate.
Washington Township Superintendent of Schools Joe Bollendorf, Director of Information Technology Joe Konecki and members of his staff spent Thursday, Sept. 28 presenting the findings of the district’s voluntary security audit, sponsored by the School Pool for Excess Liability Limits Joint Insurance Fund and completed by the company K2 Intelligence, to New Jersey School business administrators during their annual retreat in Cape May.
Technology staff members Jason Buttacavoli and Joe Goffredo helped in presenting the audit findings on behalf of WTPS, which was one of only two districts selected to participate.
“The presentation went very well,” Konecki said. “SPELL JIF has expressed an interest in sponsoring us to present our findings at the upcoming NJASA’s 23rd annual technology conference- TECHSPO’18 in Atlantic City, which we would love to do. The audit was advantageous because it uncovered areas where security improvements are needed to protect our district’s network infrastructure and critical data. Many of these are areas we would have never have been able to find on our own. Sharing this audit will give other districts an opportunity to learn from us and this worthwhile experience.”
