EdCamps allow educators and educational administrators to come together for meaningful discussions.
The Washington Township Schools will host their second annual EdCamp “Happy Camper” on Saturday, April 7, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Washington Township High School. Last year, nearly 170 people attended the EdCamp from 33 different school districts. It was the first EdCamp held in Gloucester County.
EdCamps are part of a growing trend of “unconferences,” where educators and educational administrators can come together in an exchange of meaningful dialogue. Participants can be the presenters or just a part of the discussion. Some sessions are planned and presented. Other sessions are simply a group discussion about any topic wanting to be discussed. The sessions are mostly generated the morning of the event by the actual attendees.
Administrators, board of education members, educational aides, college professors, and even college students hoping to enter the field of education, are invited to the free event. A complimentary breakfast and lunch are provided and many prizes will be awarded throughout the day. All attendees will receive five professional development hours.
Prospective attendees can register for the event via EventBrite at www.eventbrite.com/e/edcamp-happy-camper-tickets-38808012811.
