The children’s event ties into the organization’s support and sponsorship of the Philadelphia Science Festival, which runs through April 28.
Youngsters can get their favorite teddy bear, stuffed animal or doll checked out by a doctor or nurse at the upcoming “Be a Doctor Teddy Bear Clinic” set for Sunday, April 22, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Jefferson Surgery Center in Washington Township. The Jefferson Surgery Center is located at 900 Medical Center Drive, in Sewell.
Several Jefferson Health locations, including the Washington Township, NJ Surgery Center, will offer Teddy Bear Clinics on April 22, to tie in with the health care organization’s support and sponsorship of the Philadelphia Science Festival, happening through April 28.
The free “Be a Doctor Teddy Bear Clinic” is open to all children and their families. Registration is not required. Kids will have the opportunity to “gown-up” with real doctors and nurses, working with them side by side to give their teddy bear, stuffed animal or favorite doll a check-up, or “diagnose” a possible concern. The children receive a healthy snack at the event. For more information, call (856) 566–2098.
The Philadelphia Science Center, organized and led by the Franklin Institute, is now in its eighth year and will offer more than 80 science and technology-themed events at locations throughout the region, most of which are free. For more information, visit www.Philasciencefestival.org.
