A long-term lease negotiation allowed the institute 20,000 square feet in the new development
Markeim Chalmers, Inc., a leading commercial real estate, appraisal and property management firm in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, negotiated a long term lease for The Rothman Institute to occupy 20,000 square feet of the new 40,000 square foot medical office building at Washington Square Town Center. Scott Martin, senior vice president, exclusively represented both The Rothman Institute, the tenant, and The Atkins Companies, the developer of Washington Square Town Center, in finalizing the deal.
Markeim Chalmers is the exclusive landlord representative for this new 40,000 square foot, class A, medical office building at Washington Square Town Center. Located between Virtua Wellness Center and Kennedy Hospital, the two-story state-of-the-art building anchored by The Rothman Institute will be delivered by January 2018. It sits amid Washington Square Town Center, which is a 35-acre mixed-use project featuring luxury condos and apartments, retail, restaurants and more, currently under development by The Atkins Companies.
The West Orange based firm is one of the largest medical office building developers in the region. The Rothman Institute, which is one of the largest independent orthopedic groups in the country headquartered in Philadelphia, selected this new site when it outgrew the company’s current facility on Greentree Road in Washington Township.
“This is an exciting time for Washington Township as it furthers its transformation into a hub for leading healthcare providers in South Jersey, including The Rothman Institute’s continued growth and Kennedy Hospital’s announced $225 million expansion to add a seven-story tower,” Martin said. “The development of Washington Square Town Center will be a great addition bringing new jobs and healthcare services to the region.”
