Hurffville Elementary school launching “Adopt a Cop” program to show police appreciation

Hurffville Elementary School is making sure to show the Washington Township Police Department how much it cares about them, especially during the month of May. Hurffville is running a program called “Adopt a Cop,” where each classroom invites a different officer to visit their room for a special thank you.

On May 14, Ofc. Justin Walker was on hand for a visit to Mrs. Stephanie Bruno and Mrs. Stacey Goldberg’s second-grade class. The students sang songs and recited police-related poems for Ofc. Walker before the veteran officer talked a little more about his job and about being a police officer in general.

After taking a group photo, the students, staff and Ofc. Walker sat down and enjoyed some cookies and juice together.
