National Night Out is Aug. 1
Voorhees Township will be celebrating our Third Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Connolly Park on Centennial Blvd.
Meet your police officers, fire fighters, drug and alcohol educators, domestic violence advocates and numerous other public service providers. Join us for neighborhood competitions, carnival attractions, games, food and more. Target will have a sidewalk chalk art area and the deejay for the event will be our own Officer Justin Sims. The evening activities are being sponsored by Hardenbergh Insurance Group, Virtua, TD Bank, DiMeglio Construction, Republic Bank, South Jersey Radiology, J-Dogs, Kennedy Health and NJ American Water.
National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that began in 1984 and promotes police community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie striving to make our neighborhoods a safer and better place in which to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement, while encouraging a sense of community and providing a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together.
Citizens, law enforcement agencies, community groups, businesses, youth organizations and local, state, and federal officials from over 16,500 communities from all 50 states, US territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide will join forces to mark this year’s 34th National Night Out. Over 38 million people participated in National Night Out last year.
The best way to prevent crime is to know your neighbors and your surroundings. National Night Out triumphs over a culture that isolates us from each other and allows us to rediscover our own communities.
