Voorhees Theatre Company’s fall production auditions are Sept. 7
The Voorhees Theatre Company, a nonprofit theater organization, will hold auditions for its fall production of Lionel Bart’s “Oliver” on Thursday, Sept. 7 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Those invited for callbacks will be asked to return on Friday, Sept. 8.
VTC’s all age production is open to anyone over age 8 with a desire to perform.
Come prepared to sing 16 bars of a song that demonstrates range and ability and be dressed appropriately to dance. An accompanist will be provided for anyone with sheet music or you may bring your own accompaniment (instrumental only) on a digital device.
A $25 audition fee will be collected. Upon casting, a $75 fee will be charged, which covers, in part, script rental and costuming. Auditions will be held at Voorhees Middle School Theater, 1000 Holly Oak Drive.
Adapted from the Charles Dickens novel Oliver Twist, the Tony and Oliver Award-winning show is widely hailed as a true theatrical masterpiece that showcases the talents of a large ensemble cast as they bring to life the streets of Victorian England and classic characters like Oliver, Fagin, Bill Sikes, Nancy, and a band of petty thieves and pickpockets. The score features audience favorites such as “Consider Yourself,” “Where is Love,” “I’d Do Anything” and “As Long as He Needs Me.”
