The author of “The Homework Trap”, clinical psychologist Kenneth Goldberg, Ph.D, will discuss his book at the Voorhees branch of the Camden County Library System on Saturday, March 9, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Goldberg advocates for parents to assert their authority in limiting time spent on homework assignments. He recommends parents and teachers look for “under-the- radar” learning problems that are amplified in the context of working at home instead of in the classroom. Goldberg’s book urges teachers, schools and the educational establishment to reconsider its approach to homework.
The author cites his experiences as the father of three grown sons and his over 30 years of practice as a clinical psychologist as the basis for his unorthodox approach to homework for students, parents and teachers.
Registration for the program is available online at www.camdencountylibrary.org/events or by calling 772–1636.
