Camden County International Day Celebration

The Camden County Freeholder Board, in association with the Voorhees Township Cultural and Diversity Advisory Committee and the Camden County Human Relations Commission, will host the annual International Day Celebration on Saturday, Oct.12, at 12:30 p.m at Eastern Regional High School.

“This is a great opportunity to celebrate Camden County’s diversity with pageantry, entertainment and food. The event has been organized to promote an understanding and appreciation of each of our rich cultural backgrounds,” said Freeholder Jeffrey Nash. “I encourage residents to come out and enjoy the day with their friends and neighbors by sampling food, listening to music and enjoying performances from around the world.”

The day will begin with a Parade of Nations, all showing their national flags, followed by a parade of people in the traditional dress of their respective countries. Approximately 75 exhibitors will be on hand and there will be ethnic food, music, dances and various cultural events representing countries around the world.

Cultural events and entertainment include a Chinese dance, a Russian Ballroom Dance and a Russian folk dance, an Indian dance, a Philippine Bamboo Dance, A Japanese and Moroccan Dance as well as an African American Jazz song, Turkish, Vietnamese and other songs and entertainment.

International cuisine will be featured by area restaurants including: Appetite Fine Russian European Food Market, Classic Cake, Fiesta Oriental, Kaminski’s, Pho Garden, Palace of Asia, and Sang Kee Noodle House, all in Cherry Hill. They are joined by The Bagel Bin, Burger 21, Coconut Bay, Elena Wu, Rodizio’s and Nimitz Palace Indian Restaurant, all from Voorhees. Plus Oceanos and King Pizza in Berlin, Tropical Hut in Somerdale, Teppanyaki Grill in Clementon, Manila Café in Mount Laurel and Zaikas in Philadelphia.
