Voorhees Police Department still looking for families and donations for annual holiday fundraiser

It’s once again time for The Voorhees Police Department’s annual holiday fundraiser.

The department already has two families in need of help and is still looking for one or two more.

The first family is a Voorhees family of three children who had lost their mother eight years ago to a heart defect, and just recently and unexpectedly lost their father to a brief illness.

The youngest child is a fifth grader in a local Voorhees school and the oldest is a freshman at Camden County Community College.

The children are being cared for by family, but they were not prepared for such a devastating loss and are struggling financially.

The second family is also a local family.

The father lost his job and the mother was out of work for a couple of months due to a medical condition.

They have two boys in middle school who are both active in sports.

Although the mother has returned to work, they are still struggling from the loss of income.

As in past years, if funds allow, the department will continue to look for one or two more families to help.

As always, the department can’t do it without the generosity and support of others.

The department asks that the public help continue to make this program a success for the 16th time.

Each year, the department chooses three or four families who have encountered financial difficulties and need help making this holiday season a memorable one.

With contributions from local businesses and residents, the department shops, wraps and delivers gifts and food to the chosen families.

Those who know of a family who could benefit from the department’s help, please submit a letter indicating the families need and reason for the need.

Please provide the number of family members and their ages in the letter.

Letters should be sent to Stephanie Fowler at [email protected]

Donations can be sent to Attn: Stephanie Fowler, Voorhees Township Police Department, 1180 White Horse Road, Voorhees, NJ 08043

(Please include email address for future correspondence and updates)

Those with questions can call Fowler at (856) 882–1162 or email [email protected]
