Cinnaminson girls soccer falls short in penalty kicks at state semifinals

The Pirates lost to Wall High School in penalty kicks, ending the South Jersey Group II champion’s season.

Emma Karch scored the only regulation goal for Cinnaminson in the NJSIAA Group II state semifinals on Tuesday night.

Cinnaminson High School girls soccer’s postseason ended in the NJSIAA Group II state semifinals on Tuesday evening as the South Jersey champion Pirates fell to Central Jersey Group II champion Wall High School in penalty kicks.

The Pirates’ only goal of regulation came from Emma Karch in the second half. Her goal tied the game at 1–1 after Wall scored in the first half.

The teams battled through 20 minutes of overtime before going to penalty kicks. After seven rounds of PKs, Wall prevailed, 5–4, to win the game.

Cinnaminson finished the season with just one regulation loss. Their final record stands at 19–1–3.
