The Tabernacle Athletic Association presented its annual Chad Adams Memorial College Scholarship to Michelle Haines and Chase Vena, both seniors at Seneca High School. For the fall, Haines is attending Burlington County College and Vena is attending The College of New Jersey and majoring in health and exercise science.
To be eligible for the Chad Adams Memorial College Scholarship Award applicants must have participated in a TAA sport and completed the 11th grade with plans to attend a form of post-secondary education. The funds range between $750 and $1,250 per winner.
At the time of his passing, Adams served as TAA’s vice president and was actively involved in the soccer, baseball, softball, and basketball programs.
“In addition to providing strong organizational leadership for all of TAA, Chad embodied the spirit of a warm, supportive coach who served as a positive role model for children and coaches alike,” TAA president Lynne Hedden said. “Board members voted unanimously to dedicate the TAA scholarship award in Chad’s memory. We are honored to recognize Chad’s outstanding contributions to the organization and enhancement of youth athletics in Tabernacle through this scholarship award.”
