The annual Tabernacle Township Memorial Day parade will take place on Saturday May 24. With registration beginning at 9:15 a.m. for patriotic families, patriotic floats and decorated bicycles, there are prizes for children ages 10 and under. All those with wheels under their feet [bi/tricycles, scooters, skate boards, etc.] under age 17 must wear helmets to participate. Registration for the parade will take place at Seneca High School. The parade will commence at 10 a.m. and conclude with ceremonies at town hall followed by award ceremonies at the gazebo.
The parade will feature the Medford VFW Post 7677, the Seneca Eagles Marching Band, Medford Farms Volunteer Fire Company, Tabernacle Rescue Squad and the traditional American Flag carried by community scouts. Also joining the parade will be The Air Victory Composite Squadron, of the Civil Air Patrol (U.S. Air Force Auxiliary) with their mini jet. The township is pleased to recognize this year’s grand marshal, Tabernacle resident and emergency management coordinator, Colonel William C. Lowe.
If the parade is canceled due to rain, a wreath-laying ceremony will be held at 10:00 a.m. at town hall. There will be an outgoing parade cancellation message at (609) 268–0823 after 8 a.m. on the morning of May 24.
In order to make suitable arrangements, the township would appreciate hearing in advance from any group interested in participating by contacting the recreation committee, Betsy Piner, [email protected].
