BOE names Director of Curriculum and Instruction Stephen Cappello the next superintendent

Cinnaminson Township Public Schools Director of Curriculum and Instruction Stephen Cappello is Cinnaminson’s next superintendent, the Board of Education announced last week.

Cappello, who also serves as the district’s anti-bullying coordinator, joined the district just last year. According to current Superintendent Salvatore Illuzzi, he has already made an impact.

When he was just 12 years old, Tom DeStasio’s father, Bob, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, an illness that has affected millions of people from across the world. Despite how common the disease is, Tom says the awareness level isn’t where it should be.

To help raise awareness, Tom is dedicating his senior lacrosse season to his dad.

CPD arrests man with 145 bags of suspected heroin

On Thursday, May 4 at 11:13 a.m., Cinnaminson Township Police Department officer Michael Curran stopped a vehicle on Route 130 for a motor vehicle violation. During the course of the stop, officer Curran deployed his K-9 Ace, a narcotics detection dog. Ace indicated that there were narcotics in the vehicle and a search was conducted. Officers discovered 145 bags of suspected heroin.

Suspect responsible for Cinnaminson church vandalism turns himself in

On Friday, May 12, the male suspect responsible for the vandalism to two churches turned himself in at the Cinnaminson Police Station with his attorney.
