Shamong native completes Eagle Scout project

Robert King of Troop 47 completed his Eagle Scout project at Indian Mills United Methodist Church.

Robert King of Shamong completed his Eagle Scout project recently at the Indian Mills United Methodist Church at Willow Grove and Indian Mills Road in Shamong.

King, who attends the church with his grandmother, Laura, supervised several members of Indian Mills Scout Troop 47 along with some church members in beautifying the front of the church.

The project included removal of overgrown shrubbery and other plants that were hiding portions of the front of the church and a church sign, planting of new plants and flowers, the placement of some small statues and rocks, laying of border, spreading mulch, placing plastic and stones beneath and around the handicap ramp to prevent weeds from growing and the installation of lights to illumine the sign.

King said that he is very grateful to all who assisted with their time and resources. He said if he is approved by the Eagle Scout Board of review that he wants to have his Eagle Court of Honor Ceremony at the Church.
