Ashley Crossing Book Club celebrates 100th book discussion

The 100th discussion will take place on June 26 at 11:30 a.m. at the Ashley Crossing Clubhouse.

The book club that uses the Burlington County Library System’s Borrow-a-Book Club service is celebrating its 100th book discussion on June 26 at 11:30 a.m. at the Ashley Crossing Clubhouse in Delran. The group includes more than a dozen residents of the Ashley Crossing 55+ Active Adult Community in Delran and the club has been meeting since 2010.

The BCLS Borrow-a-Book Club service provides groups with canvas bags containing multiple copies of a single book, along with helpful aids for organizing and running successful book discussions.

The Ashley Crossing Book Club’s 100th book selection was the New York Times Bestseller, “Evicted” by Matthew Desmond, a wrenching account about housing and the poor. Eileen Davis, the book club’s founder and facilitator for eight years, feels the best part about belonging to a library-based book club is the convenience of borrowing multiple copies of the same book at no charge.
