Jim May continues to work valiantly for Borough of Palmyra

Since 1991, the Palmyra Historical and Cultural Society has worked tirelessly to keep the town informed about its history. Historical Society President Jim May has been a leading member, serving on the committee for more than 15 years. May continues to be an active voice in the community on several different groups and committees.

Palmyra’s Taj Harris commits to Syracuse University for Football

Palmyra’s rising Senior Taj Harris made his college commitment on June 24, choosing Syracuse University following 2018 high school graduation. Harris, one of Burlington County and New Jersey’s top dual-threat football players would also like to play basketball and major in communications/broadcasting.

Former Palmyra Councilwoman passes away in Florida

Jo Ann Leasure, a former councilwoman in Palmyra passed away on June 22in her home in North Fort Myers, Florida. Leasure, 77, was also a candidate for Burlington County Freeholder. Leasure, was very active in her church and will be missed by friends, family, and her congregation. Information about her service will be provided once details have been given.

Summer Reading Program to help “Build a Better World”

A great way for students to put their vacation time to good use is by taking part in the Burlington County Library System’s 2017 Summer Reading Program. This year’s theme, “Build a Better World,” kicked off on June 19 and will run through Aug. 12. The eight-week program encourages children and teenagers to track their reading progress, earn fun prizes and attend many great programs at all BCLS branches before heading back to class in the fall.
