Workshop of architectural styles and terminology scheduled for Dec. 19

The presentation will be hosted by the Historic Preservation Commission and architectural professional Lisa Soderberg

The Harrison Township Historic Preservation Commission invites the community to a workshop of architectural styles and terminology presented by the township’s architectural professional Lisa Soderberg on Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Building courtroom.

This workshop will help people understand the differences between Colonial, Victorian, Federal, Second Empire, Gothic and other architectural styles. There will be a power point presentation of terminology and architectural elements, corbels, pillars, posts, gingerbread, keystones and the like.

The presentation will be of particular interest to owners and realtors who wish to identify the properties they are representing more accurately, as well as property owners who would like to better understand their own properties inside or out of the historic district.
