Goodwin Corporation has selected KemperSports to manage Ramblewood Country Club, a daily-fee club that includes 27 holes of golf, four swimming pools, and a 12,000 square foot clubhouse located in Mount Laurel.
Goodwin Corporation has over 60 years of experience in land development — specifically construction of residential communities, affordable housing, neighborhood shopping centers, utility companies and more. The founder of the company, Richard Goodwin, developed Ramblewood with his father and brother in 1962, and has gone on to become a well-respected residential developer and philanthropist. His son, John, President of Ramblewood Country Club, orchestrated hiring KemperSports to allow him to devote more time to his growing leadership responsibilities within Goodwin Corporation.
“As I take on more responsibility within Goodwin Corporation, I look forward to working with KemperSports to bring Ramblewood to new heights as a community recreation amenity and regional golf destination,” said John Goodwin, President of Ramblewood Country Club. “Together, we look to continue our family’s commitment to providing a great golf, recreational and social experience for area residents.”
Designed in 1962 by renowned golf course architect Edmund Ault, the original 18 hole parkland-style layout features wide fairways with generous landing areas along with subtly contoured greens. Accompanying the original 18 holes is a third 9, the “Blue” course, introduced in 1971 and also designed by Ault. The “Blue” course challenges golfers to a different test, featuring tighter fairways with smaller landing areas and smaller, undulating greens. The variety of challenges at the 27 hole Ramblewood Country Club provide all skill levels with a stimulating golf experience and have helped the course become a leader in the Delaware Valley for hosting golf tournaments.
To establish the golf property’s commitment to the environment, KemperSports plans to work with Ramblewood staff to institute its proprietary Green to a Tee initiative in order to extend the company’s practices in environmentally sound property management.
“John Goodwin has successfully managed Ramblewood Country Club for more than 20 years,” said KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner. “We look forward to working with the family to continue their legacy of providing great customer service, consistently high quality course conditions and family oriented events.”
