Mt. Laurel residents invited to Southern Burlington County NAACP law enforcement roundtable

Police chiefs from multiple municipalities will address police relations and the black community, among other topics.

The Southern Burlington County (SBC) NAACP will host an “NAACP More Justice, More Peace II” law enforcement roundtable discussion on Thursday, Aug. 16.

The event will take place at Bethel A.M.E. Church, located at 512 N. Church St. in Moorestown, at 7:15 p.m. during the general body meeting of the SBC NAACP.

The event will bring police chiefs from towns within the SBC NAACP’s jurisdiction to address police relations and the black community, among other topics.

Other guests that evening will include Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Chief William Eliason, the President of the Burlington County Police Chiefs’ Association .

The invited municipalities are Cinnaminson, Evesham, Lumberton, Maple Shade, Medford, Medford Lakes, Moorestown, Mt. Laurel, Palmyra, Riverton, as well as Bass River, Shamong, Tabernacle and Washington Township, which State police patrol.

According to SBC NAACP officials, More Justice, More Peace II is the final leg of the organization’s “2018 Community Strengthening Series,” which was comprised of the June 16 Juneteenth Celebration, the June 21 Candidate’s Forum and the July 8 Bowling With A Purpose Networking and Fundraising Event.
