The Alice Paul Institute is seeking nominations for the 2013 Alice Paul Equality Awards to be presented at a gala on Thursday, AprilĀ 25.
The Alice Paul Equality Awards are named in memory of Alice Stokes Paul (1885ā1977). Born in Mt. Laurel, Alice Paul dedicated her life to the single cause of securing equal rights for allĀ women.
Alice Paul led the final campaign for womenās right toĀ vote.
After the 1920 victory, she authored the Equal Rights Amendment and initiated gender equality principles in both the United Nations Charter and in the 1964 Civil RightsĀ Act.
The awards honor individuals from any industry or field who capture the spirit of Alice Paul and as a consequence, either directly or indirectly, continues her mission of advancing womenās equality inĀ America.
