On Saturday, Sept. 13, Lenape High School’s Marching Band performed in the Miss America “Show Us Your Shoes” parade.
The band, which finished the 2013 season by placing second at the NJ Group 2 Open State Championships and at the National Championships, is led by Steven Waldron, who is entering his 18th year with Lenape’s music program.
When asked about Lenape’s participation in the parade, Mr. Waldron said, “The picture where I have a huge smile and thumbs up says it all! Besides the rainy beginning, the parade was awesome! The energy level from the crowd was really great and the kids had a blast playing. It truly was an experience to remember for us all.”
