The following information was provided by the Mt. Laurel Police Department.
Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 30-year-old man of the 1400 block of Yarmouth Lane on Oct. 21 at 6:30 p.m. The man was arrested at police headquarters following an investigation into an offensive touching incident that occurred in the parking lot of the shopping center at 127 Ark Road on Oct. 4 at 10:22 p.m. He was identified as a suspect who approached a young female in the parking lot and said he wanted to talk to her. He complimented her on her toes and then touched and squeezed two of her toes. He told the victim he was obsessed with toes before he walked away. The man was charged with harassment and released pending a court hearing.
Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 41-year-old man of the 300 block of Front Street, Beverly, on Oct. 17 at 2:45 p.m. for shoplifting $481 worth of merchandise from Wegmans on Centerton Road. He was also identified as the subject who had shoplifted $368 worth of merchandise on Oct. 7 and $453 worth of merchandise on Oct. 10 He was charged with three counts of shoplifting and released pending a court hearing.
Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 34-year-old man of the 400 block of Aster Place, Mt. Laurel, on Oct. 17 at 10:37 a.m. for possessing a stolen vehicle. During a motor vehicle stop on the 100 block of Gaither Drive it was learned that the vehicle the man was operating had been reported stolen from Gloucester City. After he was arrested officers found he was also in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged with receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court hearing.
On Oct. 19 at 2:05 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police officers were dispatched to a fight in progress on the unit block of Ballinger Way. On arrival they located an 18-year-old man of the unit block of Jerrick Court, Mt. Laurel, standing in the roadway. The investigation determined that he had been ejected from a nearby house after he became unruly at a party. The man was intoxicated and belligerent towards the investigating officers. He made several threats to kill the officers and then charged at an officer. He resisted arrest as officers took him into custody. The man was charged with aggravated assault on police, terroristic threats, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and underage consumption of alcohol. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail. No one was injured during this incident.
On Oct. 21 at 12:30 p.m., a homeowner of a residence on the first block of Columbia Avenue returned home to find a man running out of the rear of his residence. Mt. Laurel Police responded but were unable to locate the suspect. The investigation revealed that a suspect forced entry into the basement of the residence through a rear door. Nothing was taken but the suspect caused approximately $400 in damage to the door. The suspect was described as a younger male, about six feet tall, with facial hair, and dark hair. He was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and dark blue sweat pants. He may have been accompanied by another man.
An employee of Saladworks at 3131 Route 38, reported that a subject attempted to pay for his food with a counterfeit $100 bill on Oct. 21 at noon. The employee realized the money was counterfeit and told the suspect that they would not accept it. The suspect tore up the counterfeit money and left. He was described as a man, 18 to 25 years of age, wearing beige jeans, a grey sweatshirt with “1994” written across the chest and a baseball cap.
On Oct. 17, Mt. Laurel Police received a report of a credit card fraud where a suspect made purchases totaling $4,500 at PC Richards on Nixon Drive with a stolen credit card. The investigation identified the suspect as a 45-year-old man of Sassafras Court, Evesham. On Oct. 23, the man turned himself in at police headquarters. He was arrested and charged with two counts of credit card fraud. He was released pending a court hearing.
A member of LA Fitness on Dearborne Circle reported that on Oct. 20 between 6:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. someone forced entry into their vehicle and stole two credit cards. A short time later someone attempted to use the cards at the Target on Centerton Road but the transaction was declined.
A resident of the 100 block of Waverly Avenue reported a burglary and theft to a residence on Oct. 22 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Coins, valued at $1,500, were taken. Entry was gained by forcing the rear door causing an estimated $400 in damage.
Mt. Laurel Police received reports of a suspect attempting to use a counterfeit $100 bills on Oct. 21 and Oct. 23 at stores in the East Gate Square Shopping Center on Nixon Drive. In both cases the cashier refused to accept the counterfeit bill and the suspect fled the store. The suspect was described as a thin man in his 20’s with a tattoo of a tear drop near his right eye and a tattoo of California on his right bicep.
Mt. Laurel Police arrested a 32-year-old woman, of the unit block of Cypress Street, Swedesboro, on Oct. 24 at 12:28 p.m. She was arrested after police stopped her for a motor vehicle violation on Church Road near Route 73. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.
