Lenape High School senior Jacob Demree won first place in the VFW Voice of Democracy Audio Essay Competition for the state of New Jersey.
Demree wrote and recorded a speech on the theme, “Why are veterans important to our nation’s history and future?” As a result, Jacob will travel to Washington, D.C., with 53 other national and international winners, where the grand prize winner overall will be announced.
