Drunken bicyclist and disorderly hotel guest top this week’s Mt. Laurel Police Report

The following reports are on file with the Mt. Laurel Police:

On Feb. 7 at 3:29 a.m. a taxi driver reported that he drove three men from Philadelphia to the 100 block of Oakmont Road in Mt. Laurel. On arrival the three men ran from the taxi failing to pay their $45 fair.

On Feb. 7 at 1:07 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to a hotel on Route 73 for an intoxicated male causing a disturbance. Officers arrested a male age 26 of Philadelphia. He was charged with disorderly conduct and released pending a court hearing. At 6:39 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police were called out to the hotel again for a disturbance between the male and the hotel staff. Officers arrested the male again. He was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Bail was set at $5,000 with no ten percent option. He was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

A victim reported that on Feb. 5 at approximately 5:30 p.m. credit cards were stolen from her purse while she dined at a restaurant on Nixon Drive. The credit cards were then fraudulently used at several stores in the area.

A victim reported that she accidentally left her wallet in the waiting room of LabCorp on Century Parkway on February 5 between noon and 1 p.m. When she returned to the business her wallet containing cash, credit cards, and identification was gone.

A victim reported that someone scratched her vehicle sometime between Feb. 4 and 5 while it was parked on the 4000 block of Grenwhich Lane.

On Feb. 4 at 2:01 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Masonville Road near Marne Highway. During the stop officers arrested a male age 45 of Hainesport. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 4 at 12:09 a.m. Mt. Laurel Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near the NJ Turnpike. During the stop officers arrested a male age 30 of Blackwood and a male age 30 of Bellmawr. Both were charged with distribution of prescription legend drugs and possession of a controlled dangerous substance after officers found they possessed a quantity of prescription drugs and heroin. Both were released pending a court hearing.

On Feb. 4 at 7:54 p.m. a Mt. Laurel Police Officer was on a motor vehicle stop on Route 73 near Atrium Way. As he was conducting the stop a passing bicyclist collided with his patrol car. When the officer walked over to investigate the incident the apparently intoxicated bicyclist became disorderly and confrontational. He swung at the officer knocking documents out of the officer’s hand. A male age 34 with a last known address of West Palm Beach, Fla. was arrested. While being transported to the police station the male kicked and damaged the rear window of the patrol car. He also spit on the arresting officer. The male was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $38,500 with no ten percent option and he was committed to the Burlington County Jail.

On Feb. 3 at 1:39 p.m. Mt. Laurel Police responded to Angelo’s Pizza on Union Mill Road for a theft. It was reported that a suspect stole a tip jar and donation jar from the counter of the restaurant and ran out of the store. Employees chased after him and were able to direct responding officers to where they last saw the suspect. An officer located him running behind houses on the 900 block of Larkspur Place. After a brief foot chase officers took a male age 18 of Mt. Laurel into custody. He was charged with theft and obstructing the administration of law. He was released pending a court hearing.
