Mt. Laurel students learn about recycling with Magic of Clean Communities assembly

The students at Mt. Laurel’s Parkway Elementary School happily shouted out “Litter is solid waste, out of place” many times during their “Magic of Clean Communities” assembly earlier this week. The assembly, sponsored through the New Jersey Clean Communities Program, focused on teaching kids about their environmental responsibility to contain litter and recycle when possible.

Admission to Paws Discovery Farm free for all Mt. Laurel residents on Friday, March 3

Mt. Laurel residents can visit the newly re-opened Paws Discovery Farm for free on Friday, March 3. Those with Paws Discovery Farm describe the event as a “day filled with farm fun” for Mt. Laurel residents. Paws Discovery Farm will be open on the day of the event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Lenape High School to debut spring musical ‘Annie’ on March 3

Lenape High School’s spring musical, “Annie” will debut March 3 as audiences follows the story of a plucky orphan whose charm and determination has been featured before audiences of all ages for the past 40 years. Mt. Laurel residents approve 2017 budget for Mt. Laurel Fire District No. 1

Mt. Laurel residents have approved the 2017 budget for Mt. Laurel Fire District No. 1. The 2017 budget is the first budget in six years where the district has asked residents to approve a tax increase. The budget is set to increase the district’s tax rate by 1.433 cents, from the 2016 level of 14.4 cents per $100 of assessed value to 15.833 cents per $100 of assessed value.

Presentation on Lyme Disease set for Larchmont Elementary School on March 13

On Monday, March 13 at 7 p.m., Pat Smith, president of the New Jersey Lyme Disease Association, will present at Larchmont School at an event sponsored by the school’s PTO. The event is free and open to the public, and Larchmont nurse Eileen Valerio, who also has Lyme Disease, is inviting all to attend.
