The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office announced 38-year-old Jamar Rentie of Mt. Laurel was killed late Sunday evening in Delran.

Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Delran Township Police Chief Alfonso A. Parente Jr. announced today that a 38-year-old Mt. Laurel man was killed late Sunday evening when the car in which he was riding left the roadway, struck a utility pole and overturned in a wooded area in the 100 block of Hartford Road in Delran.
Officials say Jamar Rentie was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred on Nov. 12 at approximately 11:15 p.m. Officials say he was a front-seat passenger in a vehicle being driven by his wife, Tameka Lawson, 35.
According to officials, each occupant was extricated by the Delran Fire Department. Lawson was transported by the Delran Emergency Squad to Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County in Willingboro, where she was released after an evaluation.
Officials say the preliminary investigation revealed that the car was traveling south on Hartford Road when it veered into the pole.
According to officials, the death is being investigated by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Delran Township Police Department. The lead investigators are BCPO Detective Brian Miller and Delran Township Police Detective Dennis M. Rooney.
Officials say the results of toxicology tests on blood drawn from Lawson will be considered when determining whether she will face criminal charges.
