A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 12 at the First United Methodist Church in Moorestown.
Bruce Slocum of Moorestown passed away on Jan. 5 at the age of 88. Bruce was born and raised in Moorestown and was a longtime employee for McGuire Air Force Base and the local hardware store.
He was a Veteran of the United State Air Force, serving 1950 to 1954 and was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post # 42 of Moorestown.
Bruce also served as a leader for the Boy Scouts Troop #4 and was a longtime active member the First United Methodist Church, which he enjoyed very much. He was the husband of the late Dorothy, father of Charles Bruce Slocum of Calif. and Deborah Lynne (Slocum) Hayman and her husband Jeffrey of Moorestown. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 12 at the First United Methodist Church in Moorestown. Visitation will take place on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
