Want to get more in tune with yourself and find inner peace?
Here’s your chance to start on that journey.
The Buddhist Sangha of South Jersey will sponsor A Day of Self Exploration: Transforming Your Life by Living in the Now with Sensei Jules Shuzen Harris of Soji Zen Center on May 14 from 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The event will be held at the Moorestown Friends Meeting in the D’Olier room, which is located at 118 E. Main St.
Sensei Jules Shuzen Harris will teach a new body-mind language that allows people to break through limitations and directly reconnect with their ability to function effectively. This awareness work is based on the pioneering techniques of psychoanalyst Stanley Block and his book Come to Your Senses.
The Identity System, also known as the I-System, is a fresh approach to enable the natural self to thrive. Harris was the first psychotherapist to be certified by Block to teach the I-System technique.
Registration is at 9:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 10 a.m. The day will also include sitting and walking mediation, a talk by Shuzen Sensei and an opportunity for discussion at the end of the day.
Sensei Jules Shuzen Harris has been practicing Zen for almost 30 years and is the first Zen teacher in the Philadelphia area to receive dharma transmission from Roshi Enkyo O’Hara in the Soto/Rinzai tradition. He has an Doctorate of Education degree with a concentration in applied human development and is a licensed psychotherapist.
The Buddhist Sangha of South Jersey will provide tea and light snacks but you should bring your own lunch. Chairs will be available for sitting but you may bring your own mat and cushion, if you would prefer to sit on the floor. A limited number of mats and cushions will be available. The suggested donation for the day is $25.
Pre-registration is preferred, but you may also register at the door at 9:30 a.m.
