Moorestown residents could see a tax decrease under proposed municipal budget

Council introduced the 2018 municipal budget at last Monday’s meeting, and if passed, Moorestown residents could see a tax decrease. Under the tentative budget, the proposed tax rate of $0.404 per $100 of assessed value represents a 1.22 percent decrease from last year’s rate of $0.409. The overall tax levy is $16,293,748. The municipal tax is $14,758,840 of the overall levy, and the library tax is $1,534,908 of the levy.

Musicians of Moorestown: Trouble With Plaid

Their name was quite literally pulled out of a hat. For local musicians Rick McConnell, Gene Clark, Allan Hanlon, Andy Cross and Paul Toepel, their band, Trouble With Plaid, came together naturally through a series of connections. The band is less about perfection and more about having a good time playing with friends who share a love for classic rock.

Council authorizes financial agreement for affordable housing site

Council adopted an ordinance authorizing a financial agreement between the township and Moorestown Urban Renewal Associates LLC. at its most recent meeting. The agreement will help facilitate the township into a 30-year PILOT (payment in lieu of taxes) agreement with Pennrose LLC, which is seeking to develop 75 multi-family affordable housing units at 160 Route 38.
