If you’re looking for some fun over the next few months and beyond, the Moorestown Parks & Recreation Department has some fabulous day trips planned for seniors. These bus trips fill quickly, so book early, sit back and enjoy the ride. All trips depart from the First Presbyterian Church located at 101 Bridgeboro Road in Moorestown.

First up is Magique Grand Illusions at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City on Tuesday, Aug. 7. This is a family friendly, yet thrilling production that combines magic, comedy and cirque. The illusionists, Kevin & Caruso, are back by popular demand for a limited summer engagement only. It is billed as “Atlantic City’s only large-scale production show” complete with glamorous showgirls, outrageous costumes, dazzling special effects and mind-bending illusions. This show truly has all the spectacle of a Las Vegas extravaganza but within reach and budget. Treat yourself and be transported to another world. Cost is $35 and includes 3:30 p.m. ticket to the show, a lunch voucher to Carmine’s and a $15 slot bonus. The bus departs at 9:30 a.m. and returns by 6:15 p.m. If you’re lucky, your winnings will pay for the trip.

Here’s a great way to enjoy the water without putting on your bathing suit or getting sand in your shoes. On Tuesday, Sept. 11, a trip to St. Michaels, Maryland is planned. This charming town, considered the “heart and soul of the Chesapeake Bay” has the look and feel of a 19th century seaport, complete with charming red-brick sidewalks and Victorian homes. Hop on board for a narrated historical cruise. Enjoy magnificent views along the Miles River, part of the Chesapeake Bay Estuary, the largest in the Western Hemisphere. Attendees can learn about local history that predates the American Revolution, view historic 200-year old mansions and take in the amazing local wildlife. They can watch local fishermen harvest clams, oysters and the famous Chesapeake Bay Blue Crab during their respective seasons. Attendees can also enjoy lunch at one of the area’s renowned restaurants and wander through St. Michaels’ many galleries and boutiques for some unique shopping. The cost for a full day of fun is only $65 and includes the history and nature cruise, Crab Claw Restaurant luncheon and transportation. The bus departs at 9 a.m. and returns at approximately 8 p.m.

While it may seem far off in the distance, now is the time to book your trip to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse for their holiday production “A Playhouse Christmas-Christmas in the Air.” Hunterdon Hills Playhouse began in 1981 and is considered New Jersey’s premier dinner theater. It is on 90 acres of bucolic, landscaped grounds. This holiday musical is their most beloved and popular show of the year and sells out quickly. For 2018, there will be all new original songs plus classic and traditional favorites, hilarious comedy sketches and spectacular dance numbers, which are all backed by a live on-stage orchestra. The trip is on Monday, Nov. 26 with departure at 9:30 a.m. returning at 5:30 p.m. The show and sit-down lunch is included for $85.

Please make checks for all trips payable to Evergreen Women’s Club and mailed to Terry Kelly at: 139 Andrews Avenue, Moorestown, NJ 08057. Please include personal cell and emergency contact information with your check. For information, contact Terry Kelly at (856)866–1869 or the Moorestown Parks and Recreation office at (856)914–3093.
