These Moorestown kids know how to play some ball

Moorestown’s 9U district squad continued its winning ways by sweeping five games in the 15th annual Moorestown Invitational Tournament. That makes three tournaments and three first-place finishes for the defending state champions. The team’s motto for the weekend was “Together” and that is exactly how they played. Moorestown utilized contributions from all 12 members over the weekend: 9 of the 12 players pitched and all 12 used the bats in the five games.

Outstanding mound work by Evan Buckley, Wyatt Atkinson, Nick Yedman, Jack Jones and Danny Gerber complemented the offensive firepower of Timmy Gannon, Dylan Lee, Jude Gilhool, Ajay Bhalodia, Michael Clark, Jimmy Fletcher and Eric Schmoll. The sweep was capped off with a dramatic five-run comeback resulting in a 9–8 victory over Delran. The squad now takes aim and will look to continue their roll in the Mt. Laurel Summer Slam this weekend.
